Both Rex and Lisa both trace their ancestors back to some of the first English Colonists in Virginia. As life-long locals, they wanted to create an experience for locals and visitors alike to show people the best food, brews, spirits and vines the area has to offer to foster the locavore lifestyle.
Rex and Lisa are heavily involved in the local food movement through their own nonprofit, Hunger for Health, as well as serving on the board of and volunteering for local nonprofit, Buy Fresh Buy Local. They are also members of the Beekeeper’s Guild of Southeastern Virginia, Rex is a Virginia Beach volunteer Master Gardener, and Lisa often writes about and present their knowledge base through local publications, meetings and conferences.
Rex and Lisa truly believe that Virginia, and Tidewater specifically, has one of the best and most impressive foodsheds in the country. As the nation’s first colonized region, Hampton Roads set the tone for what would become American Food and Drink. Our food culture is the mother of all modern American food cultures, and we invite you to come learn more about it with the only tour company that has the passion and life long knowledge that Taste Virginia does!
DMV Permit#64
Born, raised, and educated in the Tidewater region, Rex Jr. spent time studying in France and Germany before teaching English in Saudi Arabia and traveling extensively around Europe and the Middle East. Rex Jr. fuses a global perspective with a local passion and is proud to show off his home region to natives and visitors alike!
Our executive coach got its start running tours in California’s famed Napa Valley. She feels right at home in Virginia’s vineyards.
Much more comfortable than a taxi or limo, the height of the van allows guests to stand up and walk to their seats- no crawling or scooting!
The coach easily seats 12. We are happy to provide water and lights snacks for the ride, and guests are welcome to bring their own picnic, snacks, and beverages. We have space for your cooler. Guests can enjoy their own music or even a movie on our flat-screen TV
